An apricot kernel (Prunus armeniaca, "Armenian plum" in Latin) refers to the kernel of a species of Prunus which contains Laetrile and Amygdalin, which is also known as Vitamin B17. This Apricot kernel is strong-tasting and bitter.

The Food Standards Agency UK have put out a safety bulletin with regards to Apricot Kernels (searchable at foodstandards.gov.uk) that considers a safe intake to be equivalent to one to two kernels a day. . . but we have many customers happily getting through 20+ Apricot Kernels per day and not having any issues at all related to apricot kernels.
